Frequently Asked Questions
How can I sign up as a Lightyear Wireless representative?
Click on the ‘Join Lightyear Wireless‘ option at the very right of the second menu towards the top of the page (or just click here). Complete the form and you will receive the corporate sign up instructions via email. We collect this initial information so we can help you off to the best possible start building your wireless business! Remember, it costs just $49.99 to open your own virtual cell phone store. As soon as you enter your credit or debit card information, you will immediately receive your rep ID number and can access your back office. The back office contains all the tools you need to set up and run your home business online.
Can I get help in setting up my Lightyear Wireless account?
Definitely! Call our team office for one-on-one assistance. We can help you set up your account online via telephone. We can also email a PDF application to you, but the paper process takes longer than signing up online. Typically several days.
Should I select any additional options during the sign up process?
No. Just focus on opening your own wireless store. Once you have opened your store, you will want to consider purchasing two things from your wireless store:
- Fire your current wireless provider and transfer to Lightyear Wireless service.
- Subscribe to Lightyear Magazine, our monthly marketing publication.
Lightyear Magazine is an excellent sales tool to provide to interested prospects. It is a bi-lingual publication, written in both English and Spanish. The magazine is not the only sales tool that we provide, but is one that we highly recommend to use in your off-line marketing efforts. You also earn residual income and acquire customer points from your magazine subscription.
Why should I switch to Lightyear when I have an existing cell phone contract?
Consider early termination of your contract as part of the initial costs of opening a new business. Termination of a relatively new account should not cost more than $175. Terminating an older account will be prorated and not as expensive as a newer account. Termination fees are generally applied to the credit card on file with your former carrier, and should not incur any immediate out of pocket expense. Think of it this way. If you owned a small grocery store, you would not be likely to leave your shop to buy a loaf of bread down the street.
As a Lightyear Wireless cell phone store owner, you will similarly want to use your own cell phone service. That way, you can tell prospective customers about the benefits of transferring to Lightyear service first-hand. Some of the benefits of transferring service are:
- Eligibility to earn residual income on your own cell phone usage.
- Residual commissions from cell phone bills of customers and cell phone store owners you recruit.
It is still your decision as a business owner what you want to invest in. There is not a corporate requirement that you use the Lightyear Wireless service, but it does make sense to do so.
Are there additional expenses other than the $49.99 website fee?
Lightyear Magazine, that we have previously mentioned, is an excellent sales tool. Other tools or services may be recommended, depending on how you choose to market your business, e.g., online, offline, etc, but none are required and none during sign-up.
