Lightyear Wireless 4G Service

Lightyear Wireless launched 4G wireless service in 75 cities on October 25, 2011. Roll out will continue to additional cities until the company goal of 250 million people with Lightyear 4G service availability is met by the end of 2013.

4G service includes unlimited talk, text, picture transmission and data for $69.99 per month. The HTC Detail 4G Smartphone, considered a direct competitor to the iPhone, is a fully featured android that maximizes the capabilities of Lightyear’s 4G service. The HTC Detail 4G features lightning fast speed up to ten times faster than 3G, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3.6-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth capability, MP3 player, preloaded Kindle reader, and access to the Android Market. Surf the Internet at both 3G and 4G speeds, depending on service area, and make use of the optional Mobile Hotspot capability to share connections with up to eight Wi-Fi devices. Lightyear will release a HotSpot plan by January 1, 2012.

Take pictures and record videos with the 5.0MP camera/camcorder to share via social networks or MMS. The HTC Detail also features state of the art GPS navigation with visible turn by turn directions and detailed maps from Telenav GPS Navigator.

The HTC Detail is TTY compatible, allowing those who are visually or hearing impaired to communicate via a TTY device. It is also certified as hearing aid compatible in accordance with industry standards.
